Regardless of experience with figure drawing, come to this workshop to enhance your understanding of the human form and/or come to try something new in a relaxed atmosphere.
All participants have access to charcoal pencils, kneaded erasers, paper, and easels.
Join because it’s a great way to enhance your skills as an artist independently, or to navigate unfamiliar territory with Amir as your guide.
We are COVID cautious; all work areas are sanitized and catered to individual use. Masks are MANDATORY. You may bring your own materials if you do not wish to share. We offer distanced seating as well as corner seats for older/immunocompromised members.
Series Outline:
Session 1 | Contour : April 28th (Past Event)
Participants will engage in less emphasis on the shadow and light that makes up the human form, but strictly the lines. The goal of the session is to better understand the lines that make up the human form.
Session 2 | Shapes : May 26th (Past Event)
Participants will engage in observing the human form and determine which shapes accurately describe what they’re seeing. The goal of the session is to teach participants to view the human form as a collection of basic geometric shapes.
Session 3 | Abstract : June 16th
Participants will engage in the abstraction of the human form; similar to expressive. The goal of the session is to let go of the notion that their drawing has to look exactly like what is in front of them.

Experience the many facets of Amir at Brilliant Resilience! Digital art, acrylic, spray paint, and music! All created from scratch using the old noodle!
Life sometimes puts intense heat and pressure on us all, and some crumble underneath, but in the case of Amir, the heat and pressure that life exerts only seemed to make him stronger! With each tragic moment in his life, the heat, it only seemed to spur him on. With every failure in his life, the pressure, he learned something new.

“The Future is Us” is an 8th grade photojournalist group from West Rocks Middle School that is empowering change through Polaroids. Our vision is to create a project that can be seen in all languages and be understood. Our project reflects young minds and how we can take action to change the world. We want to highlight how we already are tackling global problems on a local scale. This exhibit aims to celebrate & gather the Norwalk community, and empower others to take action.
The exhibit will include student-made Mixed Media ART, Polaroids and Photographs, Information about local organizations, and Activities for participants.
Based in Norwalk, Connecticut, these 8th grade students began to design this project at the start of the 2020 school year. Their teacher, Ms. Stargardter, received the Rogers Educational Innovation Grant from the University of Connecticut to fund this project. Together with the MAD Lab, the students developed the project concept and exhibition over the past 6 months. Their focus for taking action fell into five subtopics: Climate Change, Community Service, Mental Health, Self Love, and Wearing Masks. They used Polaroids to capture how they took action to tackle these global issues.
When asked about their work, the students say, “”The Future is Us” is about getting our voices heard and inspiring others to make a difference in the world. We are excited to bring our community together to take action.”
Make Music Day 2021 is an international music celebration with music across the city of Norwalk from our great musicians - amateur and professionals. Make Music Norwalk is a live, free musical celebration on June 21, the longest day of the year, with concerts on streets, sidewalks, and parks across the city.

The Norwalk River Watershed Association, incorporated in 1996, is a non-profit membership organization whose mission is to improve the water quality and fish and wildlife habitats of the 40,000-acre Norwalk River watershed; to restore the riverbanks, meadows and forests through invasive plant abatement and promotion of native species; to encourage recreational use of the river, the surrounding open space and its trails; and to promote research, legislative advocacy, education, cooperation, and action on the part of the stakeholders in the seven watershed towns in CT (Ridgefield, Redding, Wilton, New Canaan, Weston, and Norwalk) and NY (Lewisboro). We are working to help implement the Norwalk River Watershed Action Plan.
